Isaac and Mehitable Gale Junior moved from Sutton to Royalston about 1767. Isaac Isaac served as a sergeant at Ticonderoga in the campaign of 1776. By occupation he was a Miller and owned a saw and gristmill and a farm of 200 acres in Royalston. Isaac Junior, who predeceased his father, left a large estate to his heirs. Susanna was the second of 13 children born to Isaac and Mehitable Dwinnell Gale between 1756 and 1777.

Capt. Isaac Gale of Sutton, Mass, was the father of Susan Gale, who was wife of Bartholomew French and was also GGG grandfather of George W Jackman. Served as Lieutenant in 1757 under command of Capt Solomon Holden. Also served in 1763 as Captain in the 2nd Sutton Company, Col. John Chandler’s Regt. DAR
