Moved fron Cambridge England to Leyden, Netherlands to avoid religious prosecution. Came to America, Plymouth,in 1629 aboard the new Mayflower (or the Talbot). Was on the Speedwell when she turned back to Old Plymouth. The Speedwell was to have made the voyage to America with the Mayflower in 1620. He arrived with wife Anne, Thomas Jr., Elizabeth. The Mayflower Master was William Pierce, they left Gravesend in March with 35 passengers, mostly from Leyden, for Plymouth where she arrived May 15.
