From Landed Gentry. William Trotter, a Quaker, who is believed to have left England owing to religious persecution, settled at Ould Newbury before 1652. He married in Ould Newbury, in 1652, Catherine Gibbs, and removed 1655 to Woodbridge, NJ, where he received a grant of 180 acres of land.
