My mom was Betty Friend also and was widowed at the age of 30 when my dad, William R. Friend, Sr died in 1952. He died at the VA Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and is buried at Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn. The earliest Friend in that family plot was born in 1776. From what I can tell, I am not related to any of the Friends here.
