"Gladness of Nature"
Alice Faye Heinzman
1926
The best of all of Nature's things,
I love the butterflies.
I love the way they move their wings,
and float up in the skies.
And next the best of natures things,
I love the birds & trees.
I love to hear the bird's sweet song,
and the buzzing of the bees.
And last of all, but not the least,
I love the spring and flowers.
I love the cool refreshing breeze,
the thunder and the showers.
Alice died of old age, at 8:40 PM at the Friend Manor. (Friend, Saline Co, Nebraska). At her bedside were Steve and Nancy Johnson; Norma Johnson Stutzman; Lisa, Jenny, and Clare Wells; and Gayle Nichols.
