In 1954 Steve Johnson visited the Saseks several time when they lived in Paradise, CA. Uncle Victor took Steve on a gold digging tour up the mountain above Paradise. Steve found a few flakes by digging in cracks of rocks along a river.
Victor and Mabel eloped to Kansas.
