"Nova Scotia, Births and Baptisms, 1702-1896," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V5MV-R2L : accessed 24 Feb 2014), Thompson Philip Crowe in entry for Lelia Rebecca Crowe, 13 May 1854.

Laleah Crowe was born about 1839, probably at Horton, or Avonport, d. 18 Nov. 1877 or 1897, St. Johns, NB. She was the daughter of Thompson Philip Crowe, b. 1812 in Lubec, Me, d. 28 May, 1889 at North Brighton, NY and Ruth Amelia Lockhart b- Aug. 11, 1817 Avonport, probably d. near Avonport. We do not have a birth record for her, nor a marriage record, nor a death record. She married first John Henry Walsh in l860. After his death she married Hugh (or James) Farrell and moved to New Brunswick. We found the Thompson Philip Crowe family in the 1851 census, and the 1861 census. In the 1851 census Capt. Thompson P Crowe was listed as family #88 in Horton. He was listed as having three children in school, and was a registered seaman, but not a fisherman. His church was listed as Church to England. In 1851 Laleah would have been about 12 years of age, and must have been one of the three children in school. She was married in 1860, so by the 1861 she no longer lived with her parents. This is confirmed by the 1861 census which lists Thompson P. Crowe in polling District 8, Abst. 1, { Kings Co_ ) with 2 males and 4 females. The two males would have been Thompson Philip and his son, the four females would have been his wife Ruth Amelia, and his three daughters who were still unmarried. I have not been able to locate the John Walsh family in the 1861 census or the 1871 census. I have not been able to document that Laleah Crowe was indeed Ruth Amelia (Lockhart) Crowe’s daughter. Perhaps school, or church records might show this?
