Robert Ayer, born in England in 1625. He lived at Haverhill, Massachusetts. Robert Ayer was listed as a freeman in May of 1666, and again in October 1667, he was the constable in 1671, he was a Selectman in 1685 and again in 1692 when he is referred to with the rank of Sergeant. He also served on the committee appointed to settle Rev. Benjamin Rolfe, the second minister in Haverhill. Robert received land in the second and fifth divisions of plough-land in Haverhill, he was married on 27 February 1650-1 to Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Palmer of Haverhill.
Robert, husband to Elizabeth, was living in Haverhill in 1711 at the age of eighty-six. Elizabeth died in Haverhill on 24 April 1705 at the age of seventy-one.175
